We all desire to have strong and healthy hair. For keeping our hair healthy smooth and strong, we use different types of hair care products.
We stress on maintaining the perfect beauty regime for our hair. Shampooing them at regular intervals, conditioning them after every wash,
applying protective hair masks and rejuvenating serums are some of the measures that most of us follow. All these are done with the single
intention of keeping the hair in good condition. While we use all these externally usable hair care products, we often forget about the internal
health of the hair.

As we know, the part of hair that grows out of the scalp is actually the non living part of the hair, the living part lies under the scalp.
The hair root is the living part that we cannot see. We see the dead part and dedicate all our concerns for those!
We simply forget that a strong tree needs to have strong roots. The living part of the hair cannot be maintained in good condition with the use
of the hair care products those are made for the external parts only. The living part of the body needs proper nutrition. So, right food habit is
necessary to have healthy and strong hair. A balanced diet is the only thing that helps the smooth running of our body.
The balanced diet provides all the nutrients that are needed by our body and results in proper maintenance of the body parts.
There are certain nutrients which are extremely necessary to keep the hair in good health.

·         Protein: Hair is made of proteins. All the primary nutrients are necessary to maintain the overall health of the hair.
Among those, protein is the most important simply because it is the main building material of the hair. Protein is
required for the repair and replacement of damaged hair. We have the general idea that the basic sources of
protein in our diet are meat, chicken, steak, fish or any other type of meat. This is not always correct.
We get protein from eggs, legumes like lentils and beans, soy foods, dairy products and also from some
vegetables as well as whole grains. People who do not have the necessary amount of protein in their diet
suffer from Anorexia Nervosa and often suffer from poor growth of new hair. In general, some hair is shed
naturally and they grow back as a natural process. But when someone is suffering from protein deficiency,
the natural growth of new hair will be hampered.

·         Vitamins: Vitamins of group B are basically involved in the process of creation of the red blood cells.
This part of the blood actually carries the oxygen as well as the nutrients to various parts of the body.
Thus they deliver the necessary nutrients to the scalp and are indirectly responsible for the proper growth of hair.
The red blood cells need Vitamin B to function properly and in case the availability of Vitamin B is not according
to the necessity the growth of hair will be hampered, resulting in shedding and weak hair.

Some foods are considered to be the best sources for different types of Vitamins B. Chickpeas, wild salmon, lean beef,
broccoli, carrots, strawberries, avocado and whole grain bread are some of the best sources of Vitamin B6. High amount
of Vitamin B12 is found in shellfish, soy milk, cottage cheese, yogurt, tuna fish and eggs. Lentils, broccoli raab, wheat germ,
soy beans, Brussels sprouts, papaya, orange and juice of orange are the best sources of Folate, which is another necessary
nutrient for proper growth of hair.

At the end, keep in mind that proper diet means balanced diet. Maintain the proper balance of all the nutrients and enjoy your life.
